What’s this Blog About
Honestly, this blog has been through several changes. I use to talk about everything under the moon. But as my business grew, it slowly overtook FallForDesign.com. This blog is about how you can get a look behind the scenes of the owner and Graphic Designer of FallForDesign.com. You can find out all kinds of juicy information such as the struggles, the growth, and the life of real, honest, hard-working entrepreneurship.
I hope that my blog will connect with my customers on a more personal level. This way my customers and clients will feel like they have a friend designing their stationery for them.
To add more icing to my cake, my husband is also self-employed.
Who We Are
In 2008, Jeremiah and I were freshly married and the economy was crashing around us. The economy didn’t effect us until 2009, when my husband lost his job 4 days before I gave birth to our first child. Ever since then, we’ve been unsuccessful at trying to find jobs to make up for the loss income. Instead of working hard for someone else with hardly any pay, we decided to make a decision in faith and trudge down the self-employment road. It wasn’t a decision that happened over night. We continued working two jobs for over a year. I started first in 2012 and quit my job in Coporate America and started monetizing my graphic design skills. My other job was being a SAHM to our two daughters.
My husband also ventured down the road of self-employment in 2012 as well, and kept a regular 40 hour week position at another company until the spring of 2013.
I guess you can say that this blog gives you a glimpse of how a middle-class family fell to the bottom since 2008, and how we are trying to make the best of it and slowly climb ourselves to the top. Like the majority of Americans, we really do work hard to try to live the life of the American Dream the best we can (and it’s not easy in this economy). I talk about all kinds of tips and tricks related to business, home decor, DIY and being frugal.

What others are saying about Autumn’s design work
“Our wedding programs turned out perfectly! Autumn was so sweet and did everything she could to help me get the programs done in time for our wedding. Thank you so much!”
“adorable invitation set and super friendly/helpful seller! saved me over $200 on gorgeous invitations!”
“Autumn – the program is awesome and you are too! You were wonderful to work with and can’t wait for the guests at my wedding to be fanning themselves with your design.”
My Design and Decorating Style
I’m inspired by anything I see and the environment around us. I love being creative, and I love that my passion is my hobby and I’ve turned it into my income. I mostly design typography, trendy, elegant, vintage and simple products.
By any means I do not think I would qualify for an article print in HGTV magazine for my “decorating” style. My husbands style is country rustic, and I try to join his style and mine together by using the items we already have or keeping to a small budget. I like trendy, modern and cottage chic. I love homemaking so much that this is our version of Housekeeping in the 21st century and I wanted to share it with all the fabulous readers like you!
