Over on our Etsy page we get a ton of questions from clients that need a custom stamp made from a logo or an image. While there are plenty of resources available to make your own custom stamp, a lot of our clients don’t have the knowledge on how to use graphic design software to get their image ready for stamping.
So that is where we come into play. Not only are we providing a guide to help you design the proper file, but we can also turn your image into a custom logo stamp. In other words, you will receive a stamp with your own art!
What do you need a Custom Stamp For?
You can use a custom stamp for just about any project! All it takes is the right amount of ink, the right type of stamp, and the correct ink pad! You can see the ink pads we have available right here. We have made stamps for;

File Requirements
You must be an experienced graphic designer, or know enough on how to properly design your own artwork and operate your design and scanning software. We do not offer support for graphic design services, or for software.
If the below guidelines are not followed, you will experience delays with your order until you can provide the proper files.
If you’re unsure if your file will work, please contact your logo designer to confirm. Your logo designer will be the one where you purchased your artwork from. You’re more then welcome to copy/paste the below file requirements and give them to your graphic designer. This will help ensure your designer is sending you the correct files.
Please make sure your artwork is 100% finished. We do not offer any graphic design or editing services for this stamp manufacturing service.
We do all our engraving from .AI files only (Adobe Illustrator). All other files will have to be converted to .AI. In order for us to convert your file to .AI for you, we have to have the proper artwork as outlined below. ***Please read the following carefully***.
ILLUSTRATOR ARTWORK;
• Vector files designed in Illustrator, in black/white .AI or .EPS, or PDF is acceptable. Our preferred method is .AI files.
• JPEG’s & PNG’s cannot be placed/linked inside AI, PDF or EPS files.
• Smallest artwork can be no less than 6px in width/height for the stamp size your purchasing. Smallest text in caps is 6pt. Smallest text in lowercase letters is 12pt.
• All text must be converted to outlines (non-editable text).
PHOTOSHOP ARTWORK;
• Photoshop files where original art is created “new” at 300dpi in black/white PNG or JPEG is acceptable.
• Any files below 300dpi will not be accepted.
• Changing the DPI from low resolution to high resolution (300dpi) in Photoshop or any other editing tool is not acceptable. This method will not accurately change the original DPI for us to convert to .AI files. All artwork must be originally created at 300dpi in Photoshop in order for us accurately convert your file to .AI. Your artwork will be rejected if conversion fails due to any DPI’s that have been falsified from your artwork’s original DPI. Taking a low resolution file and placing it into a higher resolution file and re-saving as 300DPI is also considered falsifying, and will be rejected.
• Smallest artwork can be no less than 6px in width/height for the stamp size your purchasing. Smallest text in caps is 6pt. Smallest text in lowercase letters is 12pt.
• All text must be converted to outlines (non-editable text).
HAND-DRAWN IMAGES VIA SCANNED ARTWORK;
• Smallest artwork can be no less than 6px in width/height. Smallest text in caps is 6pt. Smallest text in lowercase letters is 12pt.
• Please make sure your scanning your artwork at 300dpi. Lower resolution files will not be accepted.
HAND-DRAWN IMAGES VIA PHOTOGRAPHS;
• Artwork is to be drawn on white paper with Black pen
• Photo must be crisp, clear, and precise. No blur.
ALL OTHER DESIGN SOFTWARE, including Cameo Machines;
• 300dpi Minimum resolution for PNG, JPEG or PSD.
• Smallest artwork can be no less than 6px in width/height. Smallest text in caps is 6pt. Smallest text in lowercase letters is 12pt.
SCREEN SHOTS, PHOTOGRAPHS OF RANDOM ARTWORK;
• Screen shots are 72dpi, and will be rejected.
• Photographs of other artwork (such as business cards or other images found on the web) will be rejected.
What type of stamp is available?
Our custom stamps for your logo is available as a wood stamp. We will be adding self inking options soon.
Do you need a handle on your stamp?
A handle on any stamp size is solely for convenience and making sure pressure is applied evenly. Handles are optional on wood stamps. Having a handle on large stamps will help you have greater control over the stamp. Imagine what may happen if your stamp slips through your fingers, then you may get ink in the wrong places all over your project! You can add a handle to your stamp right here.
Do you need a designer for a custom logo stamp?
Please keep in mind that we do not offer any logo design services. We recognize how extremely valuable a brand image is to a client.
